Feel like replacing your typical morning cup of joe with kratom, but want to drink something more flavorful than plain ol’ tea? This creamy cacao kratom tea recipe is the kratom trifecta: it’s tasty, easy to make, and effective.
It doesn’t just taste good compared to kratom powder, either. It’s a crave-worthy recipe all on its own.
How Much Caffeine Does Cacao Kratom Tea Have?
Is this cacao kratom recipe caffeine-free? Almost. We make it with Cacao Uplift white kratom tea bags. They contain just two ingredients: organic cacao shells and white vein kratom tea. These outer shells of cacao beans typically only contain trace amounts of caffeine.

Research into the nutritional and chemical content of cacao shells has shown that the shells contain 0.4 to 8.4 mg of caffeine per gram. Each Cacao Uplift tea bag contains 2 grams of cacao shells, so the tea has a very minute amount of caffeine. For context, a typical cup of coffee contains 80-100 mg of caffeine.
Cacao shells also contain other alkaloids, like theobromine. As with caffeine, the amount of theobromine in 2 grams of cacao shells is quite small. Additionally, plain kratom leaf does have some energizing properties, so keep that in mind when drinking your creamy cacao kratom brew.

Notes
Sweetener: We typically use a sweetened vanilla oat creamer in this recipe, so we don’t add any extra sweetener. If you use an unsweetened creamer or milk, you can add a teaspoon or two of sweetener. (We’ve made this recipe with unsweetened creamer and brown sugar before, and it’s a real treat.)
Don’t Add Lemon: Many of our tea recipes contain lemon juice because it adds flavor and can slightly strengthen your brew. However, lemon juice and other acidic liquids cause milk (including plant milk) to curdle.
