Euphoric Sparkling Green Vein Tea Cocktail (Alcohol-Free)

New Year’s Eve is approaching at rapid speed and we’re gearing up with our favorite sparkling non-alcoholic brews.

Don’t be fooled by the lack of alcohol in this recipe—it can still provide an uplifting boost and help you feel more social and loose at your New Year’s Eve party.

Sparkling Kratom Tea Recipe

Prep time: 7 minutes

Steep time: 20 minutes

Chill time: 30-60 mins

Servings: 4

Ingredients

• 4 Peach Balance green vein kratom tea bags (or any variety of plain kratom tea bags)
• 3 cups water
• 24 oz (2 cans) of your favorite sparkling tea or flavored seltzer (see notes for suggestions)
• Optional: 2-3 tbsp agave or other sweetener (depending on how sweet your sparkling tea is)
• Optional: lime slices

Directions

1. Add the tea bags and water to a small pot.
2. Bring water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low simmer. Brew for 20 mins. Watch to make sure no more than 1/3 of the water (about 1 cup) boils off; cover for the remainder of the steep time if needed.
3. Remove the tea bags and stir in sweetener (optional).
4. Transfer tea to a heat-safe jar or pitcher and place it in the fridge until thoroughly chilled.
5. Fill each glass with ½ cup of kratom tea, then top with about ½ can (6 oz) of your chosen sparkling tea/seltzer.

Recipe Notes

Sparkling Tea Options: We used Trader Joe’s Ginger & Lemon-Flavored Probiotic Sparkling Beverage to make our sparkling kratom cocktails. It was lightly sweet, so we added about ½ tbsp agave per serving. Some other great options are ginger beer or an infused tonic water.

Less-Sweet Options: If you prefer a dry cocktail that’s not fruity or floral, try using flavored seltzer or plain tonic water instead of sparkling sweetened teas or flavored tonic water.

Kratom Variety: Peach Balance adds bright peach and mango flavor to this sparkling tea cocktail. If you don’t have Peach Balance on hand, you can use any original kratom tea bag variety. You can still give your cocktail a strong flavor by choosing a flavorful sparkling tea (and if you want even more flavor, you can add a splash of a citrus fruit or a flavored drink syrup).
