Kratom Iced Tea FAQs
Q: Should I Make Kratom Iced Tea in a Thermos or in a Pot on the Stove?
A: You can make iced kratom tea either in a thermos or on the stove. We find the thermos method easiest, because an electric kettle heats up quickly and you don’t have to watch your tea while it steeps. The stovetop method isn’t hard, it just requires a little more attention.
Q: Can I make iced kratom tea ahead of time?
A: Yes, but with one caveat. Lemon and lime juice (and other acidic liquids) can cause kratom’s active compounds to break down quickly. So if you want to make kratom iced tea ahead of time or to batch brew tea to drink over a few days, we recommend not adding any lemon or lime juice. You can always add it in for flavor when you serve your tea, though.
Q: Should I Use Tea Bags or Loose Leaf Tea to Make Kratom Iced Tea?
A: Up to you! We think tea bags are easier, because you don’t have to measure out your servings or strain your tea after brewing. But making the recipe with loose leaf doesn’t require too much more prep / cleanup.
Whichever you choose, it’ll still be simpler than using kratom powder to make iced tea, since powder is messier and more difficult to filter out after brewing.

Q: What’s the Best Way to Flavor Kratom Iced Tea?
A: The best way to flavor your kratom iced tea 100% depend on your personal preferences, but these are some of our go-to combinations:
- Refreshing: lime and mint or basil
- Spicy & Sweet: Ginger-infused simple syrup
- Tangy & Sweet: Lemon juice and agave
- Cozy: Vanilla extract and creamer or brown sugar
Another easy option is to use one of our botanical kratom blends, which can add extra flavor without requiring any additional ingredients or steps.

Q: Why does my iced kratom tea still seem warm after chilling?
A: We intentionally created a recipe that requires a shorter chill time so you can start drinking your tea soon after you brew it.
That’s why we start with just 6 oz of water per serving, so the hot tea is slightly concentrated. A short fridge chill may not cool it completely, but you’ll add in extra ice at the end to finish cooling and dilute the tea to a normal strength.

Recipe Notes
Skip the Chill Step: We already made the chill step shorter by using a smaller amount of water per serving than we would for hot tea, so it’s somewhat concentrated. After a 15–30 min chill in the fridge, the tea may still be somewhat warm. So we add extra ice for serving, and it gets diluted to a standard strength. If you want to make your iced tea faster, you can steep your tea in even less water and increase the amount of ice.
Straining Loose Leaf Tea: Some tea thermoses have a removable strainer for loose leaf tea. If yours doesn’t (or you’re brewing in a pot on the stove) you can pour through a metal strainer into your jar. Make sure your tea has cooled down slightly so it isn’t burning hot when you strain it.
