Brewing kratom tea on the stove in a saucepan allows for the ultimate level of customization of your brew strength and flavor. A stovetop brew is also great for batch brewing, so you have enough to last for a few days.
This brew method is best for when you’re at home and have a bit of time to spare, but you can also rig up a stovetop brew with a camp stove or over a fire while on a trip!
Add water, tea bags, and lemon juice (if using) to your saucepan.
Bring water to a boil, then immediately reduce to a low simmer. To make a more concentrated kratom tea, keep saucepan uncovered while simmering. To make a less concentrated tea, cover your saucepan. Simmer for 15-25 minutes.
The longer you brew, the stronger (and slightly more bitter) your tea will be.
Remove saucepan from heat. Strain out tea bags using a spoon or mesh strainer.
Sweeten to taste and add any desired flavors or creamer – creamer is best if you don’t use any lemon juice.
Transfer to a mug or glass with ice. If batch-brewing, transfer to a heat-safe jar or other container and seal tightly. Store tea in the fridge for up to one week. Drink chilled from fridge or reheat.
*Lemon juice may cause tea to become weaker before 7 days.
