Podcasts with Episodes on Kratom and Beyond

In addition to the top three kratom podcasts, there are several podcasts that have aired some kratom-related episodes. While these podcasts don’t focus only on kratom, you’ll still find some excellent episodes on the plant that are worth a listen.

1. Hamilton Morris Podcast

Known in the kratom community for his widely acclaimed kratom documentary episode, “The Forbidden Leaf” (2017), Hamilton Morris is a renowned chemist and journalist. The episode was part of the extremely popular television series “Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia.”

In addition to creating novel psychoactive chemicals, Hamilton Morris also hosts The Hamilton Morris podcast. He covers topics relating to psychoactive botanicals and psychedelics and has recorded a few in-depth episodes on kratom.

In one kratom-related episode (available on Youtube), Hamilton Morris speaks with experienced kratom researchers Dr. Christopher McCurdy, Dr. Brian Pearson, and Dr. Oliver Grundmann. They discuss kratom prohibition, botany, and pharmacology.

You can listen to the Hamilton Morris kratom podcasts on Patreon and receive full access to his podcasts, or find free episodes of the Hamilton Morris podcast on Youtube, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify.

2. Psychedelics Today

Psychedelics Today is a hub for psychedelic education and media. On their podcast, they cover the latest psychedelic research findings, current events, and culture.

Psychedelics Today has one episode on kratom, a conversation between Soren Shade and Joe Moore. They discuss how we can learn about psychedelic prohibition through the lens of kratom prohibition, and vice versa.

3. The PRICE of Pain Podcast

The PRICE of Pain podcast is a 4-part series introducing listeners to the University of Florida’s Pain Research and Intervention Center of Excellence (PRICE). This podcast primarily features discussions with medical researchers, clinicians, and industry professionals from across the US and worldwide, and has two podcast videos on kratom.

You can find the PRICE of Pain Podcast’s two episodes featuring Dr. Christopher McCurdy, who researches kratom at the University of Florida.

4. Joe Rogan Podcast

A number of people first heard of kratom through Joe Rogan’s podcast on Youtube. As you may know, Joe Rogan is a popular podcast host who features a number of experts on the Joe Rogan Experience.

There are a couple of Joe Rogan kratom podcast episodes. The widely-viewed Joe Rogan kratom discussion comes from the full-length podcast episode featuring guest star Hamilton Morris.

As far as popular Youtube podcasts go, Joe Rogan, Tom Segura, and Chris Bell have all discussed kratom in several podcast episodes on Youtube.

While this kind of exposure has introduced many of their followers to kratom for the first time, the Joe Rogan podcast doesn’t regularly release kratom podcast episodes but instead covers hundreds of different topics.

So, while there aren’t tons of Joe Rogan kratom podcast episodes out there to catch up on, this could change if Rogan ever decides to look further into the topic of kratom and interview more experts in the field of kratom, such as Dr. McCurdy or Marc T. Swogger, as the other podcasts on our list have done.

If Joe Rogan ever does release a kratom-focused episode, we’ll be sure to let you know about it!

Why Aren’t There More Kratom Podcasts?

With the rising popularity of kratom, you might think there would be more kratom podcasts out there. Many people have searched Reddit for kratom podcasts and found few answers. Well, there are several reasons for the seeming lack of kratom podcasts.

For one, many people still don’t know the full truth about kratom and its cultural history. They’re not familiar with the latest kratom science and don’t know enough about kratom to make a podcast about the Southeast Asian plant.

Since it is a sensitive topic, it’s really important that the existing kratom podcasts do their best to educate people on the plant and fight kratom misinformation. Fortunately, podcasts like Kratom Science really do a fantastic job of filling the knowledge gap.

Perhaps another reason we don’t see too many kratom podcasts is that the existing podcasts, like Kratom Science, are so thorough in terms of keeping up with the latest kratom news and events that it’s hard to compete with the quality, professionalism, and educational value of the podcast.

Regardless, if you’re looking to learn more about kratom, there are numerous ways to do it. You can peruse other articles in the Better Brewing Blog, our hub for kratom news. Additionally, you can write a message to your favorite chemistry, psychology, or herbalism podcast host to ask them to cover kratom!
